Taiwan Beer saw their seven games winning streak come to an end on Saturday March 23 following a 80-84 loss to bottom placed BLL Changhua.

Taiwan beer had not lost a game since February 4th when Bank of Taiwan ended their 6 games winning streak. The Coach Chun-San Chou tutored side are without their Nigerian Talisman Humphery Gabriel who suffered a shoulder injury the penultimate weekend clash against Yulon Luxgen.
It was Top ranked Taiwan Beer (14-4) fourth loss of the season coming against fourth ranked Changhua on Saturday night.
Taiwan Beer were defeated by fourth ranked Changhua (5-13) 84-80. Changhua forced 20 Taiwan Beer turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Chien-Chih Huang (189-1998) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds.
At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) who recorded 32 points and 8 rebounds (on 14-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Zong-Lin Lu (175-1994) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists respectively. Changhua maintains fourth position with 5-13 record. Taiwan Beer at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost.
However, On Sunday, Taiwan Beer bounced back to winning ways again seeing off a hard fighting bank of Taiwan 105-92 with their Nigerian Humphery Gabriel still out.
The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-best Bank of Taiwan’s (9-9) loss to first ranked Taiwan Beer (14-4) 92-106 on Sunday. Taiwan Beer shot 65.6 percent from the field.
Taiwan Beer Outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 32-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taiwan Beer looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists.
American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Zong-Lin Lu (175-1994) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists during the contest. Lu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Yu-Hsu Chen (195-1990) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jyun-Hao Lin (193-1998) scored 17 points. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures.
Bank of Taiwan’s coach tested twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taiwan Beer maintains first position with 14-4 record. Loser Bank of Taiwan keeps the second place with nine games lost.
