Rayo Vallecano of Spain’s January signing, Uche Agbo has stated delight with his return from illness and ability to meet Super Eagles colleague, Kenneth Omeruo at his new base.
Although he missed last weekend’s La Liga clash with Omeruo’s club on account of illness, Agbo said he is happy they were able to link up later in the dressing room.
The former Granada of Spain midfielder-cum-defender, who is on loan at Vallecano from Standard Liege of Belgium until end of the season, said he will be able to meet Omeruo regularly, as their clubs are both based in Madrid.
He also acknowledged that having Omeruo at easy reach would make it easier for him to settle down at Vallecano, which became popular among Nigerian football fans for having once paid the wages of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, late Wilfred Agbonabavre.
Agbo enthused: “It was great for me to meet with Kenneth Omeruo again after a long while in the dressing room.
“It’s great that our clubs are based in Madrid. This will make it easier for me to settle down knowing that my Nigerian brother is nearby.”
