“We Need to Improve Our Volunteer Services for Sports”: Edo State Deputy Governor’s Takeaway from African Games

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, known for his love for sports, was present at the African Games today to observe Team Nigeria’s performance. His visit was not just about supporting the team but also about learning from the organization of the games.

“The level of organization is very good and discipline among the staff that I’ve seen here, especially the volunteers, I think we need to improve as far as our volunteer services are concerned for sports,” Shuaibu said. His comments highlight the importance of volunteers in organizing successful sports events and the need for Nigeria to strengthen this aspect.

Shuaibu also appreciated the neat environment and the professionalism of the police at the games. He said, “And the environment is very neat and the police minding their business.” These observations, along with the state-of-the-art facilities, are among the things he plans to bring back to Nigeria.
