Nigerian table tennis star, Aruna Quadri, has achieved a new milestone by securing the No. 11 spot in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings.
This achievement comes on the heels of a series of impressive performances that have seen Quadri rise through the ranks to become Africa’s No. 1 player.

Quadri’s journey to the top has been marked by several notable achievements. He made history in 2016 by reaching the quarter-finals at the Summer Olympics, becoming the first African player to achieve this feat. In the same year, he also won the ITTF Africa Top 16 Cup.
In 2017, Aruna Quadri continued to make his mark on the international stage. He won the ITTF African Cup and advanced to the semi-finals at the ITTF World Challenge Bulgaria OpenĀ¹. His performances earned him the title of Nigeria’s Sportsman of the Year.
Quadri’s success continued into 2018 when he won the Nigeria Open. He also represented Nigeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics, further cementing his status as one of Africa’s top table tennis players.
