In a statement, Professor Morakinyo highlighted the extensive preparations undergone by both the beach volleyball and indoor volleyball athletes. Despite encountering certain obstacles during their training regimen, including logistical issues and equipment concerns, the athletes have exhibited unwavering dedication and readiness to proudly represent their nation on the continental stage.
“The players are moving this week to Accra. We know that they camp both in Abuja and Badagry. The outdoor was camped in Badagry, while the Indoor camp was in Abuja because of the use of the indoor hall. So, they will be moving this week,” Professor Morakinyo affirmed.
Undeterred by the challenges encountered en route to their departure, the athletes are brimming with confidence and determination. Professor Morakinyo emphasized their mental and physical preparedness, expressing full faith in their ability to confront any opposition and showcase their prowess on the volleyball court.
“I believe that they are going to do that in spite of all the problems that have been managed in terms of equipment, in terms of jerseys, and so on and so forth. But both the boys and the girls are mentally and physically prepared and they are ready to face any opponents whatsoever, and are ready to prove themselves worthy of representing Nigeria,” he asserted.
As the Nigerian volleyball contingent sets its sights on the African Games, the nation rallies behind these determined athletes, anticipating a display of resilience, skill, and unwavering national pride on the continental stage.
