The match marked the commencement of the second stanza of the season after a brief hiatus, and Abia Comets wasted no time asserting their dominance.
Despite a promising start from the hosts, it was Maduka Emeka who broke the deadlock in the 19th minute with a stunning volley, courtesy of an assist from John Otomewo.
Maintaining a solid defensive display throughout the first half, Abia Comets went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the team continued to showcase resilience, with their defensive unit led by stand-in Captain Benjamin Iluyomade thwarting numerous attempts from Vandrezzer FC.
The visitors extended their lead in the 74th minute, as Jonah James found the back of the net with a well-placed header from an Akpan Mfreke assist.
Despite a late goal from the hosts, Abia Comets held firm to secure all three points and extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.
