Heartland FC General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, is optimistic about the club’s prospects as they choose Awka City Stadium as their new home ground for the second stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The decision aims to address challenges faced in the first stanza and boost the team’s performance.

Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of evaluating the team’s performance in the first stanza and finding solutions to challenges.
He acknowledged that their initial struggle was partly due to a lack of experienced players to complement the efforts of young talents who secured the NPFL ticket last season.
“We have gone to the drawing board to note some of the problems we had in the first stanza. It is the reason we have looked for tested players this time around to help us bounce back,” stated Nwachukwu.
The club’s licensing department, led by Tonnex Chukwu, is working diligently to clear and register newly signed players for the upcoming league fixture against Kano Pillars.
“We are working very hard to ensure that some of the newly signed players are available for our weekend fixture with Kano Pillars,” Nwachukwu added.
Addressing Heartland fans, Nwachukwu urged patience and support, assuring them that the team is determined to avoid relegation.
He called for prayers and support from the fans, expressing confidence that the team would eventually make them proud.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to prepare the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Heartland’s natural home ground.
However, for the start of the second stanza, the club has settled on Awka City Stadium. Nwachukwu encouraged Awka fans to rally behind the team, making the stadium’s atmosphere charged to unsettle visiting teams.
Heartland FC is set to face Kano Pillars in Awka for their first game of the second round and subsequent home games until they return to Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
