New arrival at Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa, Daniel Akpeyi is bound to revive his career and lighten up the future, following his Deadline Day switch from Premier Soccer League (PSL) rivals, Chippa United.
This is the verdict of South Africa-based players’ agent, Mohammed Lawal, who is of a view that moving to Amakhosi is the perfect deal to put Akpeyi back into the Super Eagles’ mainframe.
Lawal stated categorically that the future is bright for the 32-year-old former Heartland of Owerri and Warri Wolves of Delta State goalkeeper, who he believes still has a lot more to offer club and country.
Lawal, who also played for Kano Pillars and Iwuanyanwu Natrionale of Owerri during his heyday, when he was a dashing midfielder, added that Akpeyi has paid his dues and deserves more attention in the Eagles.
The Kaduna-born player-turned-agent took to social media to reveal his thoughts and reveal his visit to Akpeyi as part of efforts to support him at the start of his latest career adventure in The Rainbow Nation.
Lawal spoke after the club released a message that read: “Kaizer Chiefs would like to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi from Chippa United.
“He has signed a contract for 1 year and 5 months. We welcome him to the Amakhosi Family!. #HailTheChief #WelcomeAkpeyi.”
