Sunday Chukwu, a defender for the Collins Edwin Sports Club, shared his reflections on the ‘A Minute in Lagos with Hull City Scouts’ event.
Chukwu expressed disappointment in the 3-1 loss to Dino Sporting Club, highlighting that the team had prepared but fell short, emphasizing the importance of going the extra mile in matches.
“We should not have lost 3-1 in the game played with Dino because we had prepared ahead, but we did our best, although we didn’t go the extra mile, which made a whole lot of difference in the match, allowing for our opponents to do better,” remarked Chukwu in an interview with Sports247.
He acknowledged that the scouting program provided a well-organized opportunity for players to showcase their talents.
While Chukwu recognized that his team did not perform up to their standard in the match, he expressed optimism about future opportunities to participate in scouting programs.
He believed that the coach expected improvement from the team and urged fellow players not to relent but to continue progressing and delivering better performances.
“The scouting program was well organized and a good opportunity for all the players to display our talents and I will still take part in it given the opportunity as today my team didn’t perform well cause the standard of our team is more than what we showed out there today.
So I believe the coach expects us to get better and come back better next time so my advice to my fellow players is for us not to relent but continue forging ahead and keep delivering where they are.
