Guinea-Bissau’s winger, Carlos Mane, delivered a strong caution to the Super Eagles, emphasizing the formidable challenge anticipated in their encounter on Monday.
Despite facing setbacks in their opening two games at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations against hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea, Baciro Cande’s side remains resilient, holding on to a slim chance of progression to the Round of 16.
In a press conference held in Abidjan on Sunday, Carlos Mane expressed the team’s determination to make things difficult for the three-time African champions.

With zero points in the competition so far, Guinea-Bissau acknowledges the tough road ahead but is committed to fighting for a positive result against Nigeria.
“We have zero points in the competition, but we have to fight to get a good result.
We will go into the game with a strong mentality; we will try to win,” Mane stated.
Despite recognizing Nigeria’s strengths, including their coach Jose Peseiro, with whom he worked at Sporting Lisbon four years ago, Carlos Mane is confident that Guinea-Bissau can pose challenges for the Super Eagles.
“It’s going to be difficult to beat Nigeria, but we will play for our country and our family. We will surely make things difficult for them,” Mane added.
As Guinea-Bissau seeks its first win at the AFCON, the upcoming clash with the Super Eagles promises to be a competitive and hard-fought encounter.
