Ademola Lookman, expressing confidence and optimism, has conveyed the buoyant mood within the Super Eagles camp as they prepare for their Group B clash against hosts Cote d’Ivoire at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-time African champions are set to face the Elephants at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Thursday.

After holding Equatorial Guinea to a 1-1 draw in their opening game, Lookman emphasizes the importance of approaching the upcoming match with confidence.
The Super Eagles winger believes that despite the home advantage for Cote d’Ivoire, the Nigerian team has the experience to deal with the pressure and perform at their best.
“We are all looking forward to the game against Ivory Coast, and I see no reason why we should be afraid of them,” Lookman stated.
He acknowledged the support the hosts would receive from the crowd but expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to handle the situation.
“They will have the crowd rooting for them, which will be good for them, but we have the experience to deal with that,” Lookman added.
Considering the draw in the first game, he emphasized the importance of securing a victory in the upcoming match to make the country proud.
“For us, it’s a game we have to win, taking into cognizance the result of the first game. We will go all out and make sure we make our country proud,” Lookman concluded.
