“A lot of people don’t want to know, no matter how you play, they just want you to win. No matter if you do your best if you don’t win, they see it like your best is not good enough,” Ideye remarked.
While acknowledging the pressure, Ideye stressed the importance of the team raising their game, especially in the upcoming crucial match against Ivory Coast.
He highlighted the need for the players to go beyond their current best, pushing themselves further to secure a victory.
“So, as for me, I feel like this team, will still have to increase their best, which is if they are on 120%, they have to do more to make sure that they beat Ivory Coast because that’s the only chance we have of beating Ivory Coast and winning the last group match. I think that will just solidify our chances of qualifying for the next round,” Ideye stated.
Ideye’s message serves as a reminder to the fans of the Super Eagles to maintain patience and understanding, recognizing the challenges faced by the team.
Simultaneously, he calls on the players to exceed expectations and elevate their performance, particularly in the upcoming critical match that holds significant implications for the team’s progression in the AFCON.
