In a move to enhance the mobility of Lobi Stars Football Club, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, donated four brand-new vehicles to the club.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Old Banquet Hall of Government House, Makurdi, where Governor Alia expressed his gratitude to the club’s management, staff, and players for their outstanding performance.

Governor Alia acknowledged the positive impact of Lobi Stars on the people of Benue State, noting that football has a contagious effect that brings joy to fans and residents.
He praised the club for making both him and his administration proud with their achievements.
The vehicles donated include a 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus, two 18-seater Toyota buses, and one Toyota Hilux. These additions aim to address the challenges faced by the team during travels for matches.
During the ceremony, Governor Alia extended his appreciation to the judiciary for affirming his election victory.
He presented two cows and a cash donation to Lucky Abdullahi, Lobi Stars’ goalkeeper, who is set to get married, as a form of government support and solidarity.
Governor Alia further approved the immediate payment of 12 outstanding match bonuses to the players and promised to upgrade Aper Aku Stadium, where Lobi Stars play their home matches, to international standards.
He assured the team that they would have the opportunity to play their matches at the upgraded stadium before the end of the current season.
The Deputy Governor, Barr. Sam Ode, who is also the Chairman of the club, thanked Governor Alia for the support and trust placed in him and the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the club, Dominic Iorfa.
He emphasized the significant progress made by Lobi Stars under their leadership.
Commissioner Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyiange, in charge of Youths, Sports, and Creativity, expressed gratitude on behalf of the club for the governor’s gesture and pledged to ensure judicious use of the donated vehicles.
In response, VC/CEO Dominic Iorfa thanked the governor for the opportunity to lead Lobi Stars, assuring him of loyalty and support.
Jerseys with inscriptions of Alia 01 and Ode 02 were presented to Governor Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Ode during the event.
The team captain, Daniel Atsaka, conveyed appreciation on behalf of the players, recognizing the governor’s consistent support, prompt salary payments, and commitment to providing a conducive environment for the team.
He pledged the team’s dedication to maintaining their impressive performance.
