NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, Expresses Confidence in Super Eagles’ Victory at 2024 AFCON

Amidst an interactive session with journalists in Ikom LGA of Cross River State, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Mr Ibrahim Gusau, instilled optimism in the hearts of football enthusiasts, assuring Nigerians that the national football team, Super Eagles, is well-prepared for success at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to kick off in Cote d’Ivoire on January 13, 2024.

Gusau’s words of assurance came during a Thanksgiving Service at Holy Family Catholic Church, where Minister for Sports Development Senator John Owan-Enoh gathered for an interactive session.

Encouraging the nation not to lose hope, Gusau highlighted the bright prospects for Nigeria in the upcoming continental football fiesta.

Expressing confidence in the team’s readiness, Gusau emphasized the meticulous preparations undertaken by the federation to ensure the players are in prime condition for the tournament.

He acknowledged the crucial role played by the federal government, citing their swift release of funds to facilitate the team’s preparations, further bolstering his optimism for a triumphant campaign.

Gusau stated, “Our chances at the upcoming AFCON are very bright. We have done much to prepare our national football team well for the continental football fiesta.”

The NFF President underscored the government’s approval of the requested funds, affirming the federation’s confidence in its readiness to outperform other competitors in the prestigious Nations’ Cup.

As the AFCON, initially scheduled for the previous year, was rescheduled to 2024, Gusau’s assurances provide a rallying point for football enthusiasts across the nation.

The Super Eagles, under the guidance of their leadership, embark on the continental stage with determination, aiming to clinch victory and add another chapter to Nigeria’s footballing legacy.
