Rivers United Football Club has extended heartfelt condolences to Kano Pillars following the passing of their former team manager, Vice Chairman, and lifelong Welfare Officer, Alhaji Salisu Yaro.
Yaro, a founding member of the Nigeria Premier Football League side, is remembered for his unwavering commitment to the beautiful game.
In a statement issued by the General Manager of Rivers United, Dr Okey Kpalukwu, Alhaji Salisu Yaro is hailed as a man whose legacy will endure through the annals of Nigerian football history.
Kpalukwu expressed deep sorrow over the loss and recognized Yaro’s pivotal contributions to the sport.
“He will be remembered for his meritorious service to the country. The late Salisu Yaro was not just a dutiful servant to Kano Pillars but an all-round football legend, an icon, whose immense contributions will continue to live forever,” remarked Chief Kpalukwu.
Yaro’s multifaceted roles within Kano Pillars, from team manager to Vice Chairman and Welfare Officer, highlighted his dedication and versatility.
