The conjectures gained momentum after Vincent Enyeama posted a cryptic message on social media last week, stating, “Let’s go. See you in camp. Time for business.” This cryptic post ignited discussions among football enthusiasts, fueling beliefs that the 41-year-old goalkeeper would be taking up a role as a goalkeeper trainer.
However, Vincent Enyeama has now clarified the situation, asserting that there is no official appointment or discussion with the NFF regarding a backroom position.
The veteran goalkeeper affirmed that his social media comment was purely personal and intended to convey his plan to visit the team during the AFCON.
“I haven’t been given any appointment by the NFF, neither was there any such discussion. That was only a personal comment, meaning I will visit them in camp when I attend the AFCON. Any opportunity to encourage the lads, I use it,” Enyeama stated.
The former Super Eagles shot-stopper, known for his illustrious career and leadership on the field, has expressed his intention to offer support and motivation to the national team during the upcoming tournament.
As discussions surrounding Enyeama’s potential involvement continue to circulate, the NFF has not officially confirmed any appointment, keeping the football community in suspense regarding the 2023 AFCON backroom staff.
Football enthusiasts will be keenly observing developments as the prestigious tournament approaches, eager to see if the iconic goalkeeper will play a role in Nigeria’s AFCON campaign.
