The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has hailed Bayelsa Queens for emerging Champions of the 2017/2018 season of the Nigeria Women Premier League.
With the Restoration Girls defeating Nasarawa Amazons 2-0 in the final of the Super 4 Play off at the Agege Stadium in Lagos, SWAN Bayelsa commended the team, technical crew and management for their resilience and unparalleled commitment.
Coming 11 years after an elusive chase for the title, the body described the victory as a huge tonic to football fans and the people of the State.
SWAN Bayelsa commended the Bayelsa State government led by Governor Seriake Dickson and the Ministry of Sports Development under the leadership of the Hon. Commissioner, Perekiye Buruboyefe for relentlessly funding and supporting Bayelsa Queens to achieve the feat.
