The distribution will span three days, concluding on Friday, with operational hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.

Both registered and intending participants are encouraged to seize the opportunity to complete their registrations on-site and promptly receive their kits.

Race Director, Gabriel Okon, emphasizes the importance for registered runners to collect their kits, even if they haven’t received a notification.

The marathon, set to kick off at 7:00 AM on Saturday, December 16th, promises an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike.

The marathon route, featuring the half marathon starting at the ECOWAS Secretariat and the 5km fun race commencing at Bannex Plaza, will see road closures from 6 am on race day.

Okon urges Abuja residents to cooperate with the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) officials and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) during this period.

While most roads along the route will be fully closed, Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway will maintain limited traffic flow. Security operatives will be present to ensure a smooth and secure event.

In a bid to encourage cooperation, Okon reminds FCT residents to cooperate with security personnel and advises runners to arrive at their starting points before 6:00 AM on December 16th, as complete road closures will commence at that time.

Excitement is building as the organizers announce lucrative prizes for the winners, with the top three half-marathon runners bagging $10,000, $5,000, and $4,000, respectively.

Generous cash prizes await the top ten finishers, adding an extra layer of motivation to this thrilling sporting event.
