The match started with high intensity, with the hosts seeking an early goal while the league leaders, Remo Stars, defended resolutely, thwarting all threats posed by the Ikon Allah Boys.

Despite the competitive start, only a few scoring chances were created in the first half, and none were converted, leading to a goalless first 45 minutes.

Entering the second half, the Tornadoes’ technical crew made strategic changes, introducing players like Bolaji Adeyemo and Eric Frimpong to bolster the team’s attack.

However, Remo Stars remained steadfast in defence, denying the home team any breakthrough.

As the game approached its conclusion, Niger Tornadoes had opportunities to clinch victory, but their failure to convert chances left the match with a final score of 0-0.

The result means Niger Tornadoes moved one place above the relegation zone, securing the 16th position on the league table.

Hamza Abdul’azeez Abara reacts in a post-match interview
“What we planned for was a win but we couldn’t conquer, which is quite disturbing because we’ve been having sleepless nights trying to correct how to convert our chances.”

“Not that we are not getting or creating the chances, but how to convert the chances has been our greatest undoing.”

“While I want to use this medium to commend my players, I think one of the factors affecting our performance is the fact that we are playing our home matches away from home, and we are yet to adapt to the situation.

Any team playing us sees here as a neutral venue, so in this regard, I would like to call on the Management and, by extension, the State Government to, as a matter of urgency, hasten up in completing the ongoing renovation work at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium so that we can go back.”

The struggle to convert chances remains a concern for Niger Tornadoes, and the team looks forward to resolving this issue in upcoming fixtures, aiming for a better position on the league table.
