General Manager Promise Nwachukwu expressed the team’s devastation but assured that Nwakanma received immediate attention, including necessary tests and scans ahead of an upcoming surgery.

Heartland FC General Coordinator Casmir Mbachu disclosed that the Imo State Government, through Commissioner Emeka Okoronkwo, would cover all surgery expenses, emphasizing a commitment to Nwakanma’s swift return to the field.
The orthopedic surgeon and his team are ready to commence the procedure, followed by an estimated two to three months of rehabilitation.
Mbachu, a former player of Iwuanyanwu Nationale, explained the careful planning in place for Nwakanma’s recovery journey. “He has been handed over to an orthopedic surgeon, and necessary steps have been put in place for him to have the surgery almost immediately.”
