In an unprecedented gathering of over 350 Match Commissioners, the 2023/2024 Football Season Match Commissioner seminar held in Ogun State has been hailed as a resounding success.
The NFF Executive Member, Ogun State Football Association (FA) Chairman, Alhaji Ganiu Majekodunmi, expressed his elation at the event’s triumph.
He began by extending his gratitude to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodu for facilitating a memorable experience for all commissioners who traveled to Abeokuta for the one-day seminar.
NFF Match Commissioner Committee Vice Chairman, Majekodunmi also conveyed his appreciation to Alhaji Gusau, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation, who was well represented at the seminar.
He commended the NFF President, who was represented by ALHAJI INUWA RABIU ALHALAN.Chairman NFF Technical Committee for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the football community.
Also at the event were Babagana KALLI.Chairman Match Commissioners Committee ,Chief Keneth Nwaomucha from South/south among others.
Majekodunmi highlighted the significant progress made in hosting this seminar, as it now caters to the convenience of commissioners by being divided into southern and northern zones. This visionary move was attributed to the President’s approval, ensuring that the event was more accessible to all commissioners.
The seminar boasted two exceptional facilitators who left no stone unturned in enlightening the attendees. The first expertly delved into the role of Match Commissioners, emphasizing the importance of their position in the smooth functioning of football matches. The second expertly tackled the new FIFA laws and the laws of the game, underlining the necessity for Match Commissioners to stay updated with these regulations.
In closing, Chairman Majekodunmi conveyed his gratitude to all those who attended and expressed his confidence that the knowledge and insights gained from the seminar would significantly impact the upcoming football season. Notably, the National Nationwide League (NNL) is set to kick off this weekend, and the National League One (NLO) and the Women’s League will soon follow suit.
