In a memo signed by NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, concerns were raised regarding unauthorized individuals encroaching into restricted areas, particularly around the Changing Rooms of the Referees at certain venues.
The memo acknowledged that there have been disturbing incidents reported during the ongoing season where unauthorized persons have gained access to restricted areas.
It emphasized that no club official should be allowed access to match officials before, during, or after any fixtures.
“It has become necessary to remind our Chairmen, General Managers, and other top officials of the clubs that no club officer is permitted to visit or talk to match officials in their Changing Rooms at halftime or at any time during a league match.
Access to match officials is restricted, and only appointed Match Commissioners and Referees are to be in the designated rooms at halftime,” the memo clarified.
Owumi, in his communication, appealed to the club leaders to ensure that the conditions are conducive for professional match management, thus avoiding the unsavory reports emerging from certain venues.
He, however, warned that the NPFL administration would not hesitate to apply full sanctions, as stipulated in the Framework and Rules of the NPFL, in cases of proven and unacceptable access to match officials.
In a separate issue, the NPFL has advised clubs to refrain from requesting fixture rescheduling.
The league stressed that with the release of the full fixtures, all clubs have been given ample notice to plan their schedules accordingly.
The memo informed clubs that the full season’s fixtures are available, including provision for two-midweek fixtures on MatchDay 6 and 12.

Therefore, clubs have been adequately informed and should make the necessary logistical arrangements to fulfill their fixtures.
The league administration has stated that it will not entertain any requests for game rescheduling.
The NPFL’s directives aim to maintain a professional and structured environment for matches and uphold the integrity and fairness of the league, ensuring that the games are conducted smoothly and without any interference.
