The Nasarawa State Government has appointed a new five-member management team for Nasarawa United Football Club, the state-owned men’s football club.
The announcement came through a statement from the Nasarawa State Ministry for Youths and Sports Development, signed by their Public Relations Officer, Eche Amos, and released in Lafia.
The new management team was appointed through a letter issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government on October 17, 2023. Othman Ahmed was named as the club’s new Chairman, while Solomon Babanjah, who previously served as Team Manager, retained his position.
Idris Rilwan also maintained his role as a member. Additionally, Musa Usman Oruma and former Nasarawa United player Musa Adamu were appointed as members of the new five-member Management Committee.
This decision reflects the commitment of the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration to revitalize the club and restore its prominence in Nigeria’s top-flight football league. The appointments took immediate effect.
Nasarawa United is set to participate in the 2023/24 Nigeria National League (NNL), commencing on October 28, 2023. This comes after the club was relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League in the previous season.
