This news comes on the heels of their 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia’s Green Falcons in their previous friendly match held in Portugal.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who made a significant impact in the previous game and scored a spectacular second goal against the Green Falcons, has departed from the camp to attend to personal matters, Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen is dealing with a hamstring injury that could jeopardize his availability for future matches.
The Super Eagles fans may have concerns regarding Osimhen’s injury, especially considering that he missed the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to a previous injury.
The extent of his current hamstring injury will be determined by a scan conducted over the weekend.
Despite the absence of these two key players, head coach Jose Peseiro remains optimistic about the upcoming encounter with Mozambique.
He expressed confidence in the depth of talent within the squad, emphasizing that there are other skilled forwards who can contribute positively to the team’s performance.
Peseiro stated, “We will miss Kelechi and Victor, but we have other good players who can make Nigeria proud.
