The football arena is heating up as the Blue FC is set to pass the trophy to their rivals, the Yellow FC.
Blue FC has held the championship title for three consecutive years, while Yellow FC is determined to secure their first victory.
Rufai Monsuru, fondly known as ‘Shenshenko Shevi,’ a former football player and the current coach of the Yellow FC, exudes confidence that this is their year to shine. “I believe that we have already won, but in football, anything can still happen. With the caliber of players I have right now, I believe that we will conquer in the end,” Monsuru stated in an interview with Sports 247.
In their previous game, Yellow FC faced a setback with a loss. However, in their most recent clash on Sunday, they emerged victorious with a commanding 4-1 win, featuring a remarkable hat-trick from one of their players.

Monsuru expressed his elation, especially for the hat-trick scorer, stating, “Today is one of the best days in my life. The player who scored the hat trick personally came to me, expressing his desire to play and earn a promised bonus for the hat trick. He fulfilled that promise, marking the first hat-trick in this league. This player has undoubtedly broken a record.”
When asked about the talent pool in the league, Monsuru, drawing from his experience as a former player, emphasized the wealth of untapped talent. He noted that scouts regularly attend Sunday matches in search of potential national team members.
Players travel from far-flung places like Ibadan and Sango Otta to participate. Monsuru concluded, “This league is more than just a competition; it’s a fantastic platform for discovering remarkable talent.”
