Akinwande Temitayo has issued a rallying call to his Imperial FC team following thier 1-3 win against Iganmu Tigers in matchday two of the TCC League 24 to continue a perfect season run, winning two out of two.
The assistant head coach lauded the team’s effort as he further urged his players’ to keep thier head down after recording positive results, Sports247.ng writes.
“It’s a good performance because we started really well, the fight back spirit was evident after we got the first goal and the opponent equalized, we got the leading goal back within two minutes and that’s what we are trying to instill in the boys'”.
“In our last game, it was 1-0 after we conceded first, 1-1, 2-1 and then 3-1, we came back and fought well and that’s what we have just replicated here. You can’t put your heads down after going down, no”, he added.
“The reason for our performance is that we do most of our work in the training ground, we make sure that we instill that mentality of working hard in them because without hard-work, you can’t go far”.
“It’s a big win but we can’t let it get into our heads, we can’t get complacent, we just have to keep up the good work until the very end because this is just the second game, we still have a long way to go”.
“We are setting our standards high and we are constantly doing the works to maintain it and we will be seeing more of this going forward,” he promised.
