Head Coach of Gbagada FC since 2013, Olajide Akinyelu has bemoaned his side wastefulness in front of goal, fluttering so many chances as they fall to a bitter 1-0 defeat to Broad City in matchday three of the 2023/24 TCC campaign.
Speaking in a post match interview after the game, Akinyelu reflected on the positivity of the brilliant outing despite defeat as he backs his boys’ to come back good.
“It’s all about performance for me and we fought from the very beginning to the end, we were just unlucky because we had a big chance to go ahead in the first half with a penalty and we lost it and we also got other couples of chances that we wasted”.
“Our opponent just had that moment against the run of play and they took it but it happens. Asides that, we have to keep our focus because we really did well, the pressure was there despite the defeat”.
“I was very satisfied with how we played today, a young 15 year old center back made his debut and he was excellent all through the 90 minutes and I’m happy about that, he’s the one for the future”, he stated.
“We will keep pushing because we are bottom three at the end of match day two but I’m sure we will pick up from next game and start getting our wins”, he assured.
