He acknowledged that despite the challenges they faced, including limited training sessions due to the break, reaching the quarterfinals was a remarkable achievement.
“Actually, we really tried our best. Before we came for the competition, everybody was already on break before the commencement of the pre-season tournament, so we only had two training sessions before participating. Out of the 16 teams, we made it to the quarterfinals.”
So it was a privilege for us to have gotten to this point with only two training sessions. We played against a better side who are playing in the NNL, while we play in the NLO. It was a very good game,” Elijah shared with Sports 247.
Regarding his feelings after the quarterfinal loss, he admitted to feeling bad, especially considering the calibre of players in their team. However, he recognized that such outcomes are part of football and remained optimistic about their future prospects.
When asked about their preparations for the league, Elijah emphasized the role of their coaching staff, technical team, president, and manager in identifying areas that require improvement.

He pointed out that their goal-scoring efficiency needed work, as converting more chances could have changed the outcome of the match.
Elijah named N’Golo Kanté as his role model, particularly because his elder brother, Adebayor Abayomi, plays as a defensive midfielder with Remo Stars and also sees Kanté as his inspiration.
Elijah shared his aspirations for the future, emphasizing his belief that with determination and faith, he could achieve success, possibly in European football or wherever destiny takes him.
