Green Rangers Lift AFCADU U17 Championship As KG Sports Finish Third

Green Rangers FC on Saturday defeated Sharp Strikers by a lone goal to Lift the second edition of the AFCADU U17 championship at the Agbor Township Stadium, Agbor, Delta State.

Richie’s lone strike was all the Onwudinjor boys needed to overcome the onslaughts of the Owanta-based Sharp strikers.

To Get to the Finals, Green Rangers endured a slow start with a 0-0 draw against Winners FC before dispatching Golden Boys 3-1 and eked out a 1-0 over Archrivals KG Sports Academy to top Group A with Seven points.

In the Quarterfinals, the Walter boys were ruthless against Delta Milan overcoming them with a 3-0 spanking before dispatching KG Sports Academy 3-1 in the Semi-Finals.

Meanwhile, KG Sports Academy finished in third place after walking over Abavo United in the loser’s playoffs. Coach Adeyinka Ogundeji led KG Sports were disappointed not to have gotten to the finals despite their impressive form as poor marksmanship denied them goals in the semi-finals against Green Rangers.

The champions received cash of #30,000 and a winner’s trophy with a further #10,000 from the Director of KG sports as a reward in honor of his birthday which coincided with the finals.
