The SFFL Showtime Coed Flag Football League organizers are currently conducting an invigorating pre-season training session, aptly named ‘Showtime Sunday,’ at Meadow Hall School, Alma Beach Estate, Elegushi, Lekki, Lagos.

This preparatory event features the participation of ten teams and over 50 men and women players. Its primary objectives are to raise awareness about the sport and ensure that teams are well-prepared for the forthcoming main league season, set to commence on September 24.
Commissioner of the SFFL Showtime Coed Flag Football League, Adejumo Adebare, highlights the success of the ongoing pre-season training, which has attracted numerous participants. In addition to established players, the league is also scouting fresh talents who may join the teams.
Adebare emphasizes that the SFFL Showtime Coed Flag Football League is a meticulously structured event that offers teams the opportunity to assemble their squads effectively, ultimately leading to a more captivating and fiercely competitive season.
“The SFFL Showtime League’s pre-season training has been a resounding success thus far, with teams diligently working towards achieving cohesion before the commencement of the season,” Adebare explains.
During the pre-season training, teams engage in practice matches against each other, aiming to identify any weaknesses within their squads and make necessary adjustments.
Adebare observes, “The pre-season games are taken with utmost seriousness by players, who passionately strive to secure victories, creating an atmosphere akin to major league matches.”
He further notes that club owners within the SFFL are actively recruiting additional players to bolster their teams for the upcoming season. Notably, the sport is garnering more recognition and attracting a growing fan base in Nigeria, as evidenced by the increasing attendance at Flag Football games.
The ten teams participating in the league are Titans, Warriors, Dragons, LA Flag, Spartans, Mavericks, Raptors, Outlaws, Panthers, and Rebels. The forthcoming season promises to deliver thrilling matches and foster the continued growth of Flag Football within the country.
