Heartland Queens football club technical adviser Coach Obi Ogbala has hailed the Governor of Imo state, his Excellency distinguished senator Hope Uzodimma and the commissioner for Youths, Sports and social development Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo for their unalloyed support to the team in preparation for the 2023/2024 NWFL season.
Speaking to Heartland Queens Media after the two recent friendlies against Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens, Coach Ogbala expressed satisfaction with the level of support Heartland Queens is getting from the government ahead of the new season and emphasizing that the team lacks nothing so far.
“ Firstly we had two friendlies we engaged Bayelsa queens and we lost narrowly inspite of the controversial penalty awarded against Heartland Queens but the refree later apologized for the error from that call.
But in all the aim is to test the players and coming the second friendly match with Edo Queens, it was a different ball game from the one we played yesterday.
The girls really gave their all and it has given us that ample opportunity to Access the players.
We have been able to recruit new players this season and we are working on how to blend them with the new players, the result was 1-1 infact the equalizer came at the end of the game.
It was a good match and through this game we have identified mistakes and made corrections ahead of the 2023/2004 NWFt season.
I want to say kudos to the honorable commissioner for Youths and sports and social development, Hon. Emeka Okoronkwo who made this preparations very possible for Heartland queens to be heard and participating in matches like this, so that in the league proper it’s going to be a good game for the team.
My special thanks goes to our Governor distinguished senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo state who is the number one fan of Heartland Queens.
I’m giving him that kudos because we lack nothing, he has been behind the success story of Heartland Queens and we are praying that this 2023/20224 NWFL season, Heartland queens is going to do better atleast to come out tops in the group.
To participate in super six this year is our dream and the collective wish of the team to see that we pay back to the Imolites what they have been giving to us and the support. The team lacks nothing in terms of support and our fans has been there.
I also thank the technical committee team led by barrister ifeanyi Dike the management team that have been working tirelessly and I’m sure Heartland Queens will do better this season with all this support.” Coach Ogbala concluded
