According to the leader of the delegation and MR. CAMPUS, Comr. Suleiman Abdulrahman Santali, the decision to appoint Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi followed a unanimous decision by the Institution’s Students’ Union Government after its joint Students’ Union Council meeting held on 11th August 2023, at the SUG Secretariat, Lafia.
He disclosed that the appointment was a result of the immense contributions of the Permanent Secretary to the growth and development of Nigerian students, particularly, those of IMAP, and his humanitarian services to the community and less privileged in the society.
Responding, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi appreciated the delegation for finding him worthy of the appointment.
“Thank you for coming to felicitate with me and bestowing this great honor on me.
“I must say I don’t have any choice but to accept this conferment.
“I accepted this recognition because I have been involved, in the past, in Beauty Pageants, Miss Nigeria Football, Face of Nigeria Football, Miss Amnesty, and so on. So, I am very conversant with the role I am supposed to play as a GRAND PATRON.
“I assure you that I and the Ministry will support you in areas necessary to make your aims and objectives achievable.
“Rest assured that my doors will always be opened and those of the Ministry to you.
“However, I admonish you to be mindful of your associations while in school. Belong to Associations that will make you a better person in society.
“With the composition of people in your group, I know you are different because you are responsible and won’t agree with toxic elements that are capable of tarnishing your image and painting the school in a bad light.
“Suffice to say you are the kind of people the Government would want to partner with.”
Also lending his voice, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Youth Development and Students’ Affairs, Rt. Hon. Shuaibu Sani, applauded the students for improving the standard of students’ unionism, urging them to sustain the tempo.
He congratulated the Permanent Secretary on his appointment, describing it as deserving as he had paid his dues for the growth and development of youth in the State.
The delegation was later led to the office of the Commissioner, Hon. Jafaru Ango, where the Permanent Secretary briefed him on the development.
The Commissioner congratulated the Permanent Secretary, emphasizing that it could not have come at a better time.
He commended the students for the choice of the Permanent Secretary for the recognition, revealing that he was worth more than had been conferred on him.
Ango told the students to place a high premium on their education to become better people in society.
The highlight of the event was the decoration of the Permanent Secretary with the GRAND PATRONSHIP insignia.
