In an enlightening interview with Sports 247, Coach Muhammed Yussuf shed light on the purpose of the programme, stating; “Eduball Coaching CPD is a football coaching education series aimed at refreshing coaches’ knowledge about vital components of football coaching methodology.
The initiative addresses the pressing need to bridge the coaching education gap in Nigeria, recognizing that coaches’ professional growth directly impacts player development and overall quality. We believe that cultivating world-class coaches will lead to a continuous influx of world-class players in our football landscape.”
The coaching programme will cover a wide range of topics, including coaching styles, individual tactics, modern coaching trends, and the plan-do-review approach.
Structurally, the programme will be divided into two parts. The first two days will host online sessions, focusing on theoretical aspects, while the third and final day will be dedicated to practical demonstrations allowing participants to put their new-found knowledge into use.
The facilitators leading the program are UEFA/CAF certified coaches with vast experience in mentoring and training coaches in similar coaching education programmes.
Expected learning outcomes for participating coaches include insights into modern coaching trends and styles, methodologies for developing individual players tactically, and holistic approaches to football training sessions.
The coaching programme will strike a balance between theoretical and practical aspects. The online sessions will lay the foundation while the subsequent practical sessions will demonstrate the application of the concepts and allow facilitators to assess participants’ understanding.
No specific prerequisites or requirements exist for coaches to join the program other than a genuine interest in football coaching and a willingness to learn or relearn.
Coaches attending the program will have ample opportunities to observe the experienced facilitators in action and actively participate during the practical sessions.
The programme is designed to accommodate coaches of all levels of experience. While addressing the remedial needs of some participants, it will also fill critical coach education gaps to enhance the coaching toolkit of others.
Participants will receive primary, secondary and reference materials used during the program for their personal consumption. Additionally, the event will facilitate networking opportunities among coaches to create a supportive coaching community.
After completing the programme, coaches will continue to receive ongoing support and mentoring, further advancing the goal of elevating coaching standards in Nigeria.
Coaches’ progress and development will be regularly assessed through feedback sessions, providing clarity and insight into their understanding of the programme.
Networking and collaboration opportunities will be fostered during and after the event, allowing coaches to stay connected and benefit from upcoming educational series and events.
To stay up-to-date with the latest coaching mthodologies and developments, facilitators will have access to coaching seminars and updated coaching resources, ensuring global best practices in football coaching education.
This edition is not the first of its kind, as previous coaching events have garnered positive testimonials, reinforcing the programme’s commitment to excellence and impact in the coaching community.
