Included in the best goalkeepers ranking in the just concluded NPFL season, Kayode Bankole has backed Remo Stars for a top finish in the 2023/24 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League competition despite it being their debut season having played Confederations Cup last time out.
Popularly called ‘The Banks’, the shot-stopper allayed that it is an honor for him to be recognized as one of the top performers in between the sticks for his side as he reveals excitement over their participation in the CAF Champions League.
“Being named one of the best goalkeepers in the league is an honor. I’m glad, excited and I thank God for such recognition,” he said in an exclusive interview with Sports247 as he talks up the teams’ preparation for the competition.
“We want to do well in the CAF Champions League and also be one of the best-performing teams in Africa. I know that with God all things are possible, with our preparations, we will surely do well,” Kayode Bankole assured.
Remo will aim to overcome their Ghanaian opponent in Medeama for a shot at Guinea’s Horoya for a coveted group stage place in their maiden appearance.
