Steve Ahua, head coach of Vinning FC has bemoaned his players’ naivety and lack of experience following the 2-2 draw against Right Vision Choice FA in the 2022/23 NLO Division 2 campaign after they had taken the lead on two occasions.

Having previously won two games in the season, they were close to a third victory but Right Vision Choice FA who are winless in the season fought back valiantly to secure a draw.
“We have won two games this season and this could have been the third one but unfortunately, we had a draw when we had the game to win but we couldn’t because we lost it due to the inexperience of our boys that are just playing the NLO for the first time,” Ahua lamented in his post match assessment with Sports247.ng.
“I will applaud them for how far they have come this season. These are young boys that we just assembled less than 48hrs and then doing the mistakes, correcting them and also adapting to the pressure and style of play.”
“It’s difficult for this young lad but I know with time, they will get to where we want them to be,” he assured.
Assessing the age grade demanded by NLO to participate in the league, Akowa admitted that the regulations have to be followed.
“NLO pushed us to do this, it’s also our desire to create a young team which we have done and we are hoping to continue with this. The other team will be pushed to NLO, NPFL so that we have a trend to grow younger ones and push them to the top.”
“It’s a good one, a good season trying to do something that’s new, it’s working for us. I must commend the management and the team, we will move from here and do better,” he promised.
