Tony International Gymnastics (TIG) of Nigeria made an impressive mark at the 25th Gymstar International Club World Championship in Malta, securing a total of 22 medals.

The gymnasts showcased their exceptional talent and competitiveness, leaving their mark in the competition that featured 198 athletes from 15 countries.
The TIG gymnasts’ outstanding performances resulted in a remarkable medal haul of 8 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Among the standout performers were Francisca Okpanko and Adeela Adedeji, both securing 2 gold and 2 silver medals each.
Nmesoma Okafor contributed to the success with 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal, while Chimamanda Okafor earned 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
In category D, Semilore Adeoye and Angela Marononi showcased their skills, each taking home a gold medal. Chiwendu Okpanku delivered a spectacular performance, earning the best all-around (Gold) on vault, along with 3 bronze medals in the floor beam and bars.
Anthony Asuquo, the Founder of Tony International Gymnastics, expressed immense pride in the gymnasts’ achievements and recognized their potential to represent Nigeria at prestigious international championships like the African Games, Commonwealth Games, and even the Olympic Games.
Asuquo stated, “I am happy with the performances of the girls; in fact, they surprised me beyond imagination. This is the first time an African Club has participated in the Gymstar International Club World Championship, and I am glad they have put the name of the club as well as the country on the map.”
He further added, “These young girls have shown they are hungry for glory, and I am optimistic that in the next 10 years, some of them will represent Nigeria at various international championships, including the Olympic Games.” With such exceptional talent and dedication, Tony International Gymnastics is poised to play a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s future in gymnastics on the global stage
