Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has announced the inclusion of two promising Flying Eagles-eligible players in his travelling squad to Oslo, Norway for the pre-season friendly against Leeds United.
Teenagers Shola Shoretire and Maxi Oyedele have earned their place in the 26-man roster, highlighting their potential to secure pre-season playing time against Leeds United. Both players have been training with the first team at Carrington since the commencement of pre-season preparations last week.
While Oyedele is yet to make his debut for Manchester United’s senior team, Shoretire has already participated in five competitive matches out of the fifteen call-ups he has received. Notably, Shoretire’s impressive performances during a loan spell at National League club Altrincham FC last season earned him a temporary promotion to the first team. In twelve outings in the fifth tier of English football, he showcased his abilities as a defensive midfielder and scored four goals.
For winger Shoretire, this marks his third consecutive pre-season involvement with the Manchester United first team, indicating the club’s recognition of his potential and commitment to his development.
Last season, Manchester United faced Leeds United twice, resulting in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford and a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils at Elland Road. The forthcoming friendly match between the two teams will take place at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, with kickoff scheduled for 1600 hours.
