Following their two consecutive losses against Lakeside Queens FC and Prince Kazeem Eletu FC respectively, the coach Nelly led Imo Strikers looking forward to bouncing back when they take on Delta Babes Tuesday 11th, July, 2023 at the FC Ebedei Stadium, Akpele.

The Imo based team lost their opening match of the ongoing 2022/23 Nigeria Women Football Championship by a 3-2 to Lakeside and also lost 4-3 against Prince Kazeem Eletu in the second game
Despite no point recorded yet, the team is confident of picking their first point of the tournament when they take on their rivals Delta Babes Fc
According to the head Nelly Osiakwe, ” We will do everything within our reach to fight for our first win in this competition. We lost our two previous matches due to little mistakes, the girls gave a good fight especially in our last match but we were very unlucky.” She said
” We are not given up as a team, we will fight till the last day of the competition. Whatever happens, we will accept our faith.”
Imo Strikers so far have scored five goals (5) in the tournament, three of which was scored by young talented striker Harmony Achifula and the other two from Oscar Precious. They have also conceeded seven with no point yet and will face Delta Queens tomorrow by 9:am at the FC Ebedei Stadium, Akpele
