Recounting a devastating incident, he revealed, “I had to set aside my aspirations of playing professional football when my team won a lucrative football competition worth millions of naira, only to be robbed by our own people.
It’s an experience I’d rather not remember.” These unfortunate circumstances left a lasting impact on Chidozie, underscoring the challenges faced by athletes in grassroots football.
Nevertheless, Chidozie remains resolute in his pursuit of success. Despite the obstacles he has encountered, he continues to train diligently with his team on weekends and remains open to opportunities that would take him beyond the borders of Nigeria. In his unwavering determination to reach greater heights, Chidozie plans to apply to the prestigious Pepsi Football Academy, recognizing its potential to elevate his skills and advance his career.
