Organizers Fix Date For Peace Cup In Lagos

Organizers of the third edition of Peace Cup have fixed 2, July for the opening match of the tournament.

Addressing the Journalists in Lagos, chairman organizing committee, Dr Kolade Kolapo said the tourney will witness 16 teams battling for trophy as well as cash prize and urged the participants to abide by the rules and regulations.

Kolapo who doubles as cup donor explained that the tournament is organized as part of his contribution to the football development in the state and community at large saying that any team violates the rules during the game would be disqualified.

“We are set for the commencement of the tournament and we are satisfied with the quality of participating teams. We are using this medium to urge our participants to keep to the rules and shun vices that can tarnish the image of the competition,” he said.

Match coordinator, Gift Anderson disclose disclosed that the tourney is home and away format in group stage but noted that the quarter final matches would be played one legged.

“We are using Akinola football field aside in Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja and it is home and away format and a winner in two legged would qualify for the quarter final stage. I wish all the teams all the best and try as much as possible to keep to the rules and regulations,” he said.

Meanwhile the opening match would be played between Idan FC and Fadob FC, while Ladone Academy battle Future Hero.Football Athletico tackle Ottasolo FC,

Other matches are Shuffle Select tackle Sizoko FC, Godly face Sunday Set, Platinum keep a date with Tridal FC, Future Image welcome Young Elite, while Xrown Stars host Stotech FC
