…Uniting Coaches, Players, and Scouts in a Ground-breaking Football Project Date: June 14th, 2023
Lagos, Nigeria – As part of our contribution to grassroots football and in an exciting development for the round leather game in Nigerian, Kakawa Sports Investments, the private equity company that finances both Kakawa FC and FC Bethel Sporting Football Club, in collaboration with eight other local academies and over 50 coaches, is proud to announce a ground-breaking project aimed at revolutionizing talent development. This transformative initiative will focus on training coaches, scouting players for a global exchange program, and restructuring the academy to enhance its overall effectiveness. We are thrilled to welcome esteemed international scouts, Lodewijk and Rene, who will bring their wealth of experience to this venture.

The project highlight includes a two-day coaching masterclass, scheduled to commence on June 15th, 2023. Coaches from Lagos, Ogun, and neighbouring states will have the unique opportunity to participate in this exceptional event. The masterclass promises to provide an invaluable platform for coaches to learn not just from two renowned scouts who have worked with top football clubs and national teams worldwide but also to collaborate amongst themselves.
The importance of this project is far reaching beyond the training of coaches as the presence of international scouts, the initiative will foster a talent identification program that aims to discover exceptional players for a global exchange program which is part of the focal areas of this project. The scouts will closely evaluate the participants and identify players with exceptional potential, granting them an opportunity to showcase their skills on an international stage for talents selected. This exposure will not only benefit the selected players but also promote Nigerian football.
Furthermore, the project recognizes the need for a well-structured academy that provides a conducive environment for talent development. As part of the collaboration, Kakawa Academy and its partners will work together to enhance the infrastructure, facilities, and overall organization of the academy. By implementing a robust structure, the project aims to optimize player development, create a nurturing environment for aspiring footballers, and raise the standards of football education in the region.
