Troyes, a French club, has entered the race to sign Nigerian international Bright
Osayi-Samuel, joining Glasgow Rangers in pursuit of the talented player.
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the editor-in-chief of Sports Digitale, has reported that Troyes has made an official offer to Fenerbahce for Osayi-Samuel’s services.
Additionally, Rangers have been in contact with Fenerbahce regarding a potential transfer for the former Blackpool academy product.
Troyes recently finished 19th in Ligue 1, resulting in their relegation to Ligue 2 for the
upcoming season. Despite this setback, they are keen to bolster their squad by acquiring
Osayi-Samuel, who has struggled to secure a regular starting position at Fenerbahce during the 2022-2023 season.
The 25-year-old right-back found himself out of favor, with Ferdi Kadioglu often being preferred over him. As a result, Osayi-Samuel is looking for a potential exit from the Turkish club.
During the previous Turkish Super Lig campaign, Osayi-Samuel started in only 10 out of 38 possible games and contributed a solitary assist.
Since joining Fenerbahce in 2021, he has accumulated 99 appearances, scoring three goals and providing seven assists. His lack of regular playing time has led to speculation about his future, with both Troyes and Rangers expressing interest in securing his services.
Furthermore, Osayi-Samuel has received a call-up to the Nigerian national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, further highlighting his talent and potential on the international stage. As the transfer saga unfolds, the Nigerian winger will assess his options and determine the best move for his career, taking into consideration the offers from Troyes and Rangers as well as his national team commitments.
