In a thrilling journey through the knockout phases of the 2023 Faculty of Environmental Design and Management Dean’s Cup, seven teams battled fiercely to reach the final showdown.
After intense competition, the Estate Management department and the Quantity survey department emerged as the two finalists, set to clash on June 6 at the prestigious Main Bowl.
The reigning champions, the Fine Arts department, faced an unexpected early elimination, failing to defend their title. The Estate Management department displayed their prowess by defeating the Building department with a convincing 2-0 victory, securing their well-deserved place in the final.
Meanwhile, the Quantity survey department triumphed over the Urban and Regional Planning department with a solid 3-1 win, paving their way to the ultimate showdown.
The Quantity survey department boasts a formidable striker who has been the tournament’s highest goal scorer, netting two goals. Their attacking prowess poses a significant challenge for the Estate Management department’s defense.
However, Estate Management has their own trump card in David Olayemi, affectionately known as “Harry Kane,” who is determined to claim his first medal in the Faculty.
Expressing his thoughts to Sports247.NG, Olayemi exuded confidence in his team’s abilities, stating that they fear no one and will solely focus on their own game plan. He emphasized their intention to dominate the match and reclaim the trophy for the Estate Management department.
While acknowledging the respect they hold for the Quantity survey department, Olayemi made it clear that there would be no room for familiarity or leniency on the pitch come Tuesday.
As anticipation builds for the final clash at the Main Bowl, the question on everyone’s mind is: Who will emerge as the victor and claim the prestigious Faculty crown in 2023?
Will the Estate Management department rise above their opponents and seize the trophy, or will the Quantity survey department defy the odds and snatch the victory?
With both teams displaying immense talent, skill, and determination, fans eagerly await an exhilarating battle that will ultimately determine the deserving champion of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management Dean’s Cup.
