The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has decided to move the second AFN Golden League by a week.
The meet was originally planned to take place on June 7th and 8th at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, but it will now be held on June 14th and 15th at the same location.
Rita Moshindi, the Secretary General of the federation, issued a statement about the date change. “Due to circumstances beyond the control of the AFN, the date of the event has been changed.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change,” Moshindi wrote in a circular sent to all States Athletics Association, clubs, and Military and Para-Military clubs.
Additionally, entries for the event have been extended to allow those who were unable to submit their entries before the postponement to participate.
The first AFN Golden League was held last month at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.
