Asisat Oshoala, the Super Falcons forward, is uncertain to play in Barcelona’s UEFA
Women’s Champions League final against German club Wolfsburg. The highly anticipated
match is scheduled to take place today at the PSV Stadium in Eindhoven.
Oshoala suffered a thigh injury during Barcelona’s last league game of the season and has
not been able to train with her teammates since then. On the eve of the final, she trained
separately, raising doubts about her availability for the crucial encounter.
With five goals to her name, Oshoala is currently the joint-top scorer in the competition,
along with her teammate Aitana Bonmati. Her potential absence could be a significant blow to Barcelona’s attacking prowess.
Barcelona, aiming to win their first UEFA Women’s Champions League title, will be
competing in their fourth final in the past five seasons.
While they secured a remarkable 4-0 victory over Chelsea in 2021, they suffered defeats
against Lyon in 2019 and 2022 in their previous appearances.
