Pinnick: I Don’t Mind Begging Moses To Return

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Melvin Amaju Pinnick has declared that he has nothing against begging Chelsea of England winger, Victor Moses to return to the Super Eagles.

Although many observers believe Moses has made up his mind on his decision to retire from the Eagles, which he took soon after starring at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, sports247.ng gathered that Pinnick wants to try and convince the player to rescind his decision.

Consequently, the NFF supremo says he will soon meet one-on-one with Moses again, as he says he is in regular touch with the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic star.

Pinnick reflected on Moses’ time in the Eagles, for which he says the player, who has also starred for Liverpool, West Ham United and Stoke City, needs to credited and honoured for his service to Nigeria.

Pinnick stressed: “He is very eager, very, very eager but he still want to talk to me. Even if you say am begging him, I don’t mind.

“It’s not as if they are no players but you see we should encourage our player when they say oh I’m retiring, maybe it’s out of ego, we need to bring them in.

“It’s like your wife saying am not going to this event, you’ll go and beg her; she will go to the event and of course make an impact. The same thing here.

“(Moses) has paid his due. I recall the Nations Cup we won (in 2013). He scored two penalties in the game against Ethiopia with ten minutes to go and that catapulted us for the quarter final. So you just don’t say let him go.”
