Ambassador Matsunaga Kazuyoshi whose name has very special meaning, as Kazu means job in Swahili language, while Yoshi means good in Japanese language to literally mean ‘Good Job’ has indeed, been doing not just a good job but a great job, since he became his country’s ambassador to Nigeria.
The visit by the respected diplomat, was his second to the fast-rising team. Like the first visit which held at the Lagacy pitch at the National stadium, Lagos, His Excellency Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, once again displayed uncommon humility with the visit to the team’s camp, as he personally handed some gift sports items ranging from balls, jerseys, boots and hose to the players and management of the team.
The items were donated to Igamu Tiger FC by some benevolent firms from Japan. H.E Kazuyoshi said the kind gesture is a reflection of Japan’s desire to help develop football in Nigeria and to further strengthen relationship between both countries.
“I’m here again to donate these soccer gears and equipments to Iganmu Tiger FC. “The balls were donated by Molten company, a top producer of soccer balls and basketball in Japan. We have 141 jerseys donated by Organic city kisarazu, 25 football boots from Shonan Bellmare, a Japan professional league side. While 39 pairs of socks and 12 jerseys were donated by J-League.”
“I hope these gifts will encourage the young footballers to keep working hard to pursue their goals. Let me also congratulate three young lads of Igamu Tiger FC who departed to study at Fukuchiyama Seibi, a Japanese high school which is more like a football club, which is also a and sports and academic development centre.
“I hope that these lads will gain and understand the Japanese culture and that their personal interaction outside football will deepen the bond between Japan and Nigeria”, he stated.
Responding on behalf of the management of Iganmu Tiger FC, General Manager of the club, Chibuzor Obilor expressed the appreciation and gratitude of players, officials and entire management of the team to H.E Ambassador Matsunaga Kazuyoshi, the donors and the good people of Japan for the gift items and continued support to the team.
Obilor added that the team would continue its strides to further help strengthen the laudable relationship between Nigeria and Japan through sports.
