The Chairman/CEO of Starbase FC Lagos, Adeoye Segun Hakeem, has commended and showered encomiums on the organizers of the 2023 United Football Championship (UFC) as one of the best grassroots competitions in the country.
He described it as top-notch. “The league has been topnotch, keeping the boys busy, and apart from keeping them busy it has taken them off the streets. There are numerous talents everywhere, and sometimes you even get confused.”
“The best grassroots teams in Lagos are the ones participating in this league, therefore this is one of the best grassroots competitions in the country.
He charged the government to pay more attention to the grassroots as that’s where football starts from. “The pitch is good, the environment is very okay, the talents are overwhelming, just a small push or pat from the government will do wonders, he said.
He however appealed to the government to provide more such stadiums as all their games are played in one venue, which means that there are a limited number of matches they can play in a day, but with more venues, we can do much more and better too, he concluded
