Rangers’ new youthful midfield sensation, Chinemerem Ugwueze, was an excited young man as he made his debut in Nigeria’s top-flight league, NPFL, after his brilliant display against reigning champion, Rivers United F.C which his side narrowly lost in Port-Harcourt.
Ugwueze who joined the ‘Flying Antelopes’, mid-season from NNL side, Giant Brillars F.C was a delight to watch in his first two matches and hopes to continue with more sterling performances to help the team finish amongst the top three in Group B of the abridge league season.
In an exclusive chat, the lanky midfielder charged the club’s numerous fans to believe in the team and support them with prayers stressing, “Let me start by thanking the coaches, management, and teammates for their huge support that has helped me in no small way in settling down faster in the team. With what I have seen on the ground, I strongly believe that we can get the top three tickets and from there go for the trophy which is realizable with the strong prayers and support of our teaming supporters.”
The young midfielder who once played in the Slovenian top league further stated, “The match against Rivers United that was my baptism of fire was like an El-classico and I thank God, who has always been my source of strength, and my teammates for whatever performance I put up in Port-Harcourt. I really appreciate the opportunity and hope that my contribution and that of my teammates will help us get the team’s target at the end of the season.”
