Lobi Stars who were to set to resume immediately after the new year at Ijebu Ode for a closed camping session ahead of the CAF Champions League group stage has announced a change of plan.
Lobi Stars players will now hold their camping session in their home ground of Makurdi, Benue state capital.
The latest decision is to ensure the players acquainted well in a place that has similar weather conditions with Enugu, where they currently play their home games in the competition.
Vice-Chairman, Mike Idoko, who said , we have a change a plan from the initial scheduled plan , we will be Makurdi to hold our close camping session.
This decision taken at the dying minute is based on the fact that Makurdi shares same weather condition like that of Enugu, so, it will be technically wise to have full preparation at home before leaving two days ahead of the match to Enugu.
There is also the need to cut cost in order to carry out procedures that are top on our agenda because so many things needed to be done, hence, the latest development to achieve our goals”
The players whom all left for holidays because of the Christmas celebrations will be resuming in camp on Tuesday evening , January 1, 2018.
All the players are presently on break but, hopefully, they will start arriving in camp from Monday, Dec. 31.
Lobi Stars who made history by qualifying for the group stage will be facing their opponents on January 11, 2019, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
